According to the FAQ found here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/file/927130/44959, you can still system link as long as you do not host any new maps or gametypes (like assault on Kashyyk). I never got a chance to test this out before I stripped out the added content.

Hello. I think I may have found the symptom to my problem. I have system linked by XBox with SWBF2 four times. The first two times I had success. I then downloaded the all heroes on Kashyyk and the two times I have tried to system linked have failed. The XBox's I have tried to link with did not have the extra content downloaded. My sense after reading this thread is if an XBox has extra SWBF2 content downloaded then it is unable to system link with XBox's without the extras. Am I correct in saying this or did I miss something to successfully link SWBF2? Thanks.

Same issue here. Mine popped up after I signed on with Live and got a BFII "update". I am tempted to mod my xbox just to look for files and delete them to get it working. Has anyone attempted to go to the Memory section of the dashboard and delete anything related to BFII to see if it works?

well, if other games are working on the same setup... then this has to be an issue with software, and probably with this game specifically.

I'd suggest CALLING Lucas Arts tech support and refusing to get off the phone until either the problem is fixed, or they at least tell you exactly what's going on with it. Don't let them try to pass the buck, especially when you know your setup works for other games... this is definitely a software issue of some kind.

(Sorry I can't be more help here)

I tried trough a crossover cable and trough our network at home. That means trough a hub and router.
Nothing worked but as I said other games did in both ways

How are you systemlinking the xboxes, hardware-wise? Are you running a cable directly between the two xboxes, or are you running them through a hub/router? And if you're running a cable directly between them, are you using a standard network cable or a crossover cable?

I've tried this before the first patch was available so I don't think this could be the problem.
I've also played other games over system link and there was a patch on my X-Box but not on my friend's

Hello,

Are both xboxs running the patch/update version of BF2 ? I've not tried system link myself with BF2, but I know that other games can have problems if they are not all patched to the same version.

I tried to set up a system link between 2 xbox's and it doesn't work with swbf2. I create a game with one xbox and i can't find it with the other xbox. I've done many system links with other games so i don't need the troubleshooting tips. With the exact setup i have now i can put a halo 2 disk in each machine and be able to system link, just not with bf2, it's frustrating and doesn't make sense. Anyone have any solutions/suggestions?
