but maybe if their was one centralized spawn point (Like a MASH) or one for each faction, where you could not pull out a weapon or you would be killed instantly, or maybe the road would be like that leading up to it, or maybe they give you a 1 min"grace period where you cant be killed. Their are ways to get around that, what you are talking about, when people are waiting at spawn points ready to beat the crap outa you everytime you spawn, lik ein SWG where you have to accept a duel to be killed in PvP, if they were to make it like a MMORPG
If i said that the merc Jennifer Mui is hott, would anyone disagree?
Definitely, not just 100 guys roaming round with EMP lauchers blowing the hell out of each other, different games, maybe 30 people per level, or different game modes like capture the flag, or hunting or sniping...
Werewolf, I never said i didn't like the BF games. I love them. I wa sjust saying that if any number of enemies are near your spawn point as soon as you respawn, you'll most likely be whipped $h!tless. Online mode would be awesome, but it would have to have limitations.
o_O Just have a random free-for-all on the map, have vehicles spawn in random, but SENSIBLE locations, and have the player spawn at a set distance from the nearest other player, so they can get their bearings, but not so they have to walk all the way across the map...
How could u guys possibly not want to have an online mode. Seriously, that is the factor that would make Mercenaries 2 the best game ever. And if you dont like the battlefield games, you have issues. i honestly think battlefield 2 is the best game ever(online.) Mercenaries the best single player.
Yeah, you're right. it's kinda like of the BF(BattleField) games. If your spawn point is being attacked and you spawn there, you're gonna get the crap blown out of you before you know what happened. But, you know the idea of an Anarchy-style online mode would be interisting.
There is no game mode. People would just be running round, blowing themselves and others up. Gunfire would be everywhere, tanks and helicopters would be shooting and blowing the hell out of everyone, once u spawn u would be dead quickly.
Keep the ideas rolling! I like the idea of a lifelike economy. I also like the idea of trading between factions. Will the prices for MoM things fluctuate? And how about when trading doesn't occur, factions get undergunned and undersupplied? Maybe you could have a choice of weapons when you go into a skirmish contract, and when trade doesn't occur between that certain faction and other factions, then that faction has to use more basic weapons for the skirmishes, and the AI troops are weaker because no body armor is getting to the front lines? It would make trade missions important.
A proper economy structure would be fun maybe... even in singleplayer, there could be a limited amount of money going around... the money "limit" within the game world would increase, decrease over time due to your actions, whether the Allied Nations was winning or losing (Winning = more money being poured into warzone, vice versa), the political stiuation in each of the faction's home countries...so if Russia was looking really bad because their criminals (russian mafia) were supplying the bad guys with munitions or anything, back home the Russian leaders might crack down and bust a few of the Mafia kingpins, and the Russian Mafia faction would be looking for more work from you for less pay, maybe even offer you tons of money when they begin to get desperate. You could influence this, if you are stealthy in your missions for the Mafia and make it look like the Allied officer you assassinated for the Mafia was killed by NKs instead, such a thing as a crime crackdown in Russia would be less likely to occur.
And if you did no missions for a faction and that faction didn't get anything done, the leader of that faction might be replaced, and the new leader may like you better, pay you more or less per contract, take more or less risks, etc... maybe even not hire you at all and have you shot on sight!
here would be yet another thought for a carreer or business.
Ok, i am thinking that there should be an organized system of payment for whoever does things for you. Maybe if someone that was in your clan or faction performed a trade that was assigned to him, you would pay him a certain sum of money. Have something you can set that will give a person a certain percent of a trade. For example, a "grunt" in your faction transports a trade item/ crate. The faction that it was traded to pays $15,000. The money is sent to the factions account. Then, you will pay the "grunt" 10 percent of it ($1,500) for transporting it. If someone of a higher rank transported it, maybe pay him 20% of it.
To sum it up, i am looking for a way to regulate pay of anybody who works for you or your faction.
Thanks, Nology. Ok, so here is some more career ideas.
I hope to see something trade related in a career mode. Maybe if you had a treaty with another faction, you could start a trade where things are shipped in crates, such as the ones from the first mercenaries. The things traded could be anything from weapons to machine parts. And i mean anything. You should be able to trade any way you want, and hopefully make profit. I havent thought about the details of trading much, but i think it will be good. Also , maybe there would be something like services for money. maybe another friendly faction could temporarily hire you to perform a task.
P.S. i will continue to post messages and i hopefully others will to!
