Good Evening, mates! :p

The Elders have arrived and they are angry. Not at the human race, but at the Demented Ones. All shall burn. My name is Kyral, savior of the human race.

Pirated games don't use game managers, at all. No, ME3 from either Skidrow or Reloaded or Fairlight doesn't need origin.

Neither does an Origin-game, matter of fact. When you get a DVD from the store, and it pops up the Origin installer, Ignore it and extract the compressed data file on the disc to somewhere on your pc. That contains the actual game. Often you don't even have to install it after you finish extracting it.

We also dont'have to run the resource-hog called Steam :p Nor have a constant internet connection. (Which is useful if you say, are on a long trainride, or on vacation. Or at Uni, where they closed all ports.)

The only Ubisoft game I have is Word in Conflict and have found nothing wrong with it, but I haven't played it in a month or two. :D

I know right? I'm lucky that I didn't run into any DRM issues yet. ;)

It seems their DRM is actually a pain to the butt to thier customers than the pirates. Ironic.

Do they ask for product key when contacting customer service? Because some game company websites don't.

It's worse. The only reason Ubisoft didn't get the "worst US company" is because they're French.

They keep doing that; putting in lousy DRM and then patching it half a year or some later. Usually in this manner: http://torr entfreak.com/ubisofts-no-cd-answer-to-drm-080718/ (It's not a torrent, that's the name of the website. It's an article).

From Dust originally got the "We won't force you to be online 24/7 to play" press converance. Then the game was released. What did it require? 24/7 connectivity. 80% of the gamers demanded their money back. Steam was the one who eventually repaid them. Ubisoft never did. They just released a patch 4 months later and pretend it never happened.

It is a DRM issue. It's not the game itself. You're missing the fact it happens on all ubisoft games with the same DRM. Thousands of people have contacted ubisoft from day one. After four patches, there is still no response. All they say is "Turn off your AV.".

I can't ask them more directly. I told you, I lied. I don't have the game legally. (Because i know this would happen. It did with the last 4 Ubi games)

So Ubisoft patched an old game because of a feature gamers thought annoying but then put a more annoying version of that feature in thier future games? Nice. :p

Anyway did you try asking them more directly? While it can be an error because of DRM's frequent datalogging, it still CAN be a problem in the game. Surely thier customer service can't be as bad as EA......right?

AC2's DRM is different from the one in Anno 2070. Wheres AC2's only required a constant internet connection (which they changed in a patch after complaints (well. The complaints from users didn't do anything. They only released the patch when the US military asked for it after recieving serious complaints regarding lack of overseas stable connections.).)

The one in Anno 2070 runs a data logger. (which is why the AV's mark it as a keylogger.) It constantly checks the game and pc's data against what it thinks to be legal. It does also require a constant internet connection, but the crack deals with that.

Assissin's Creed 2 has a DRM too. But my anti-virus dosen't detect it as a virus.

If you turn it off and then play it but if it dosen't work then also, couldn't it be a problem with the game?

(Though I admit DRMs are very annoying.)

No. The DRM is so strong, several Antivirus programs rate it as a virus. AVG, ESET, Norton, Macafee, Windows defender (which idiot even uses that?).. It doesn't matter if it's the crack or retail version, the solidcore32.dll and the anno5.exe are automatically blocked by both your AV and windows itself.

For about 45%, turning off the AV works. For the rest, it doesn't.

Are you sure DRM is the problem not the game itself? Considering you can easily evade it in reloaded versions.

Well I did lie. A bit. I only have the Reloaded version. (I am not risking wasting 70 euros on something that I can't return if they mucked it up.) The problem is there for 80% of the retail users too, though. But they don't want to hear it, they never did. 6 games in and several courtcases and whatnot later, and their lousy DRM is still in place.

Did you try contacting Ubisoft more directly instead of forums? Because mods in forums are there to maintain peace, they are not experts in such things. (Though they could go out of the line because of becomming mods of a game company website which make them arrogant.)

Probably both. He's a moron, I clearly said the retail version had the same problem. I don't like his attitude, I don't like his stupidity and I don't like his name.
