This happens with quite a lot of games. (even recent ones.)

If the saves arent in C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR\saves, or wherever other location you have the game installed, they're gone.

You do have one option, provided you installed the game onto the same drive as windows. It's called System Restore. Basically its setting your computer back to a previous day. Be warned though, that this nullifies everything you have done since the recovery point. So back up anything you really need to another harddrive!

saved games gone after update?

i purcahesed this game awhile ago and found it the other day and really fancied playing it, im using windows 7 and i've put in 13hours+ after i decided to click the 'upate' option on the main menu just before you click to play game and so it updated, i went back onto the game after it had finished and clicked load game and a message popped up saying 'no saved games' i can't find the files anywhere on my computer for the saves and i really don't want to start all over again so soon after finding the game again
