Well, it's an HP Pavilion 6000 series, from reading the side. It reads "Pavilion Magnesium Gray Edition p6674y PC."
Does that help?

It is highly unlikely that a some type of video card wouldn't work in your system. This is true regardless of what system you have. I have never encountered a system that could not use a discrete VPU. That doesn't mean those systems don't exist, just that I have never run into one in 25 years working with computers.
In order to learn what specific cards would work the best it is necessary to know the specs of the motherboard. I could tell you this if I knew the manufacturer and the model number of your system.

Yes, but the thing is my computer came in already put together. I'm concerned about whether the new video card will work with the system as it is--it seems a bit chancy.
I did list my specs below. I can provide the link to the exact computer I bought, if that will help. Thanks!
Kyle.

Putting in a video card is a very simple procedure. Plug the card into either the PCIe, AGP, or PCI slot (depending on your motherboard). Then download and install the correct drivers for the card. Nothing to it really. The most difficult thing will be choosing a video card that you want, that will work with your budget and the game.
As far as editing that file. I'm afraid I have no idea what you should change.

Frankly, about getting a better video card, I don't think I'll be going that far...isn't putting in a new video card time-consuming?
As for the manual hack...I think I found the file. Its contents:
1
800
600
1
TRUE
DIK_W
DIK_A
DIK_S
DIK_D
DIK_LSHIFT
DIK_SPACE
DIK_RETURN
DIK_C
DIK_ESCAPE
MOUSE_B0
DIK_R
MOUSE_B1
DIK_E
DIK_Q
DIK_LCONTROL
DIK_V
DIK_ESCAPE
FALSE
FALSE
0
Please tell me what to change.

Can anyone direct me to some manual hacks so I can have the game run smoother?
Edit the Config.xml file on the game directory.

The best thing you could do is to add a video card to your system. While you have plenty of memory, integrated graphics systems seldom perform well enough for these games. -TC
I concur. From the system requirements listed on Aspyr's website http://www.aspyr.com/product /game_specs/117
SUPPORTED PC DESKTOP CHIPSETS
* ATI RADEON HD 2600, 2900, 3650, 3690, 3850, 3870, 4550, 4650, 4850, 4870, 4890
Radeon 4200 graphics chipset is not on the supported list.

Specs:
Windows 7 OS
AMD PhenomII X4 830 quad-core Processor 2.8 GHz
6GB memory
ATI Radeon 4200 integrated graphics
1 TB hard drive
64-bit operating system
I'm installing the game as I type. I'll run the 1.1 before the 1.2, then see how it works.

System specs would be important here. Also, why wouldn't you install 1.1 before 1.2? I don't think the 1.2 contained the 1.1 fixes but I might be mistaken on this. You might consider installing 1.1 as well. I'm running the PC version an have few issues even with my old 8800 vid card.

Hi,
I'm running PC version of TFU:USE and managed to reduce the lag by running the game in 800x600 mode, but it's still kinda laggy, especially on Raxus Prime (haven't beaten the game yet) and during combat.
Can anyone direct me to some manual hacks so I can have the game run smoother? I'll post my system specs later tonight--and I have the 1.2 patch (didn't install the 1.1, just went to 1.2 immediately, if that's any help).
Thanks!
JK Kyle.
