If my memory serves me right... AND this is the DS version of the game... getting into the temple is easy. After completing the maze and you're in front of a door, push the statues up against the wall and insert the jade sphere. You should be able to enter the temple now.
A sincere Jedi always looks after others... especially if they can cook.
