If you have any art posted on your DA page, I'd be more than happy to look at it. :)

Addicts generally don't think their life sucks because of their druguse; in fact drugs make their life bearable.

And my website is under construction at present. I do have Deviantart, but it's fairly neglected.

Hey Lea, on a totally different topic: I want to see some of your art. Do you have a Deviantart account? If not, is there another site where your art is featured? Or, do you have your art as images on html files? (does that last question make sense? I'm not much of a computer expert..) Please respond.

I know weed isn't a depressant or addictive. I was thinking more "what is my life worth?? I use these awful drugs, and there's no way to undue time and mend my errors! I must kill myself!".

Ah, testosterone. Crippling adolecent male minds since the dawn of the species...

Say, what's the suicide rate in the Netherlands? With those young kids using drugs so much (or so I assume), it must affect their lives in a negative way. That, together with the cloudy/rainy/cold weather, must make their lives extremely depressing. Don't you agree?

Remarkably low, actually. Rain doesn't make you depressed if you grew up with it. If it did, there'd be no Brits, Dutchies, Belgians or Norwegians left.
And Marijuana isn't depressive-addictive. Oddly enough, the largest users are foreigners, with Americans being the foremost. Only 32% of the users are Dutch.

We have a few 'gangs' in the Randstad (Amsterdam Rotterdam Utrecht and everything inbetween), but they're what we call 'hangjongeren'; adolecents who hang about on the street in groups. They don't have names, or leaders, or funding, or anything of the sort. They're just bored people who hang about and smoke weed. (and pick fights when they're drunk.)

We don't have what you consider street gangs: You can't get guns here, at all. Drugs are legal, so there's no need for trade, you can just buy the stuff in shops legally. No drug trade means no drug lords, which in turn means no drug gangs. Also, people are far too down to earth here. Nobody cares about 'ruling the neighbourhood', so we don't have gangs.

Adolecents don't go about stealing stuff, smuggling drugs or robbing people to make a living, because everyone over 18 doing a college course gets a 4 year free-to-spend, non-loan education-funding of 300 to 800 euro's a month. (And if you live at home, that means it's all for you.)

We do have a few criminal gangs (of the maffia variety) but they keep to themselves. The "you leave them alone, you'll never even see them." type. Oh, and there's the, at the risk of sounding racist, foreign criminal groups. Usually what we call 'Oostblokkers', people from Eastern Europe taking the wrong kind of advantage of the open borders. We have one group locally at the moment (which the police do everything to deny). They set fire to derelict buildings and steal bikes out of garages.

That goes for Sweden too. There probobly are some street gangs at the main citys in our country, but they are very few and they would never do violence against the kids. That would hurt their only source of recruiting.

I really wouldn't advice someone with hayfever to go sit outside in this time of year. Especially when they're already on two of the strongest antihistamines per day, and still can barely keep their eyes open whilst outside....
And since I wear contacts, it's even worse.

Oh, poor dear. :I I should be very thankful that I don't have hayfever.
God, that's awful. You're right, that guy was a moron. Any scrap I've been in was usually started by me, but once I was jumped by a street gang, if you can believe that. They didn't use weapons; they just wanted to scare the crap out of me and punch me a few times (in the spine/back, those scumbags...)

Luckily we don't have street gangs. We just had courtyard gangs. You do learn how to patch yourself up that way, though. So I suppose there is a tiny brightside to it...

No, I'm bored because the world and people are too dull. Nothing interesting ever happens.

Yes. I know what you mean. Sadly, I was also harassed in middle school and high school. Bullied on the bus, shoved around in school, neglected by my peers...probably harassed for different reasons than you, but I think we can still relate to each other, right?

Yes, we probably can. We didn't have busses for school, but going home through the entire courtyard wasn't all that much fun either. They tended to get physically violent on top of the verbal part. Last day of elementary school the biggest moron in the class tried to break all my ribs. I took up Karate and jūjutsu the very next day.

Actually, I don't try to make friends. Unless it's some other lonely man/woman I can relate to. (Actually, I'm a bit confused. Did I say I wanted to make friends in my OP?)

No, though you did say you wouldn't want everyone to hate you.

Ah, true. I did.

No! I would never have guessed! Oh my, what a revelation!

I tried to make the clues as overt as possible. :D

Lea, I wouldn't blame you wanting to learn Karate and stuff. I would too. I was bullied and so close to fighting I could almost touch it. If you can imagine it as an object and if I ever would get in a fight I would probably get wrecked, since I am that skinny, computer gaming type. :P

Well. . I don't find meeting someone with sociopath dull since that see the world as something different, then, say someone that is 'normal'.

shrug That's just me

I don't think you're a sociopath. A social outcast would be a more accurate term. You're still trying to make friends and be liked, so that discounts antisocial personality disorder.

I read the whole thing.

I don't think it's genetics, per se. Probably more to do with an unsatable curiosity and constant boredom. Though yes, you are born with the brain you have and its ability to learn.

Though what I mostly meant by no expectations is on a social level. Nobody expects me to be friendly, or to show up on their birthday party (Or even remember the date.). or to be interested in the whole girlfriend/boyfriend rubbish. Which is not to say people left me alone; that sadly is not a thing hatred makes people do.

I don't think you're a sociopath. A social outcast would be a more accurate term. You're still trying to make friends and be liked, so that discounts antisocial personality disorder.

Meh. I need to stop lurking.

Well, I'll say this: Being the quiet is a huge advantage, nobody will hardly notice your presence gives you an equal chance in doing something great that will surprise everyone.

That day will come soon(TM) :D

Yes, being hated by everyone doesn't bother me. It's actually rather convenient: Nobody expects anything from me. ;)

And yet you're +so smart+! When I was a teenager, people didn't expect jack from me (aside from school, but even then...). I had no friends, crappy jobs, parents who who always gone (or when they were home, they were still hardly there; one was self absorbed, the other was drunk), relatives who never called me, a school counselor who strongly disliked me (to the point where she'd let other students get away with bullying me) and other teachers who disliked me, too (because of my record of acting out). I had no one! No one to help me (or tell me to) get involved with the world. (which is why i thought I used to be a sociopath. Do you still think otherwise?) And thus, I became...somewhat incapable, and very aloof. I worked at half the speed of my fellow students on tests, projects, and homework, and it often took me a while to understand the directions for classroom assignments (longer than other students, most of whom were younger than me). Yet I was never put back in special education since my freshman year of middle school.
So, do you need a TL;DR?
here: I don't have people expecting anything from me, and I'm not very quick. You have (had) no one expecting anything from you, and yet you seem sharp as a tack.
I ask: why? If it's not one's environment that has a significant influence on intelligence, then is it genetics?
