I solo AT-AT's all the time, its super easy, just position the tow cable to the left or right (wichever your more comftorble aming with) before u take off, then just press G or scroll to switch to copilot, take your shot then IMMIDEATLY go back to pilot and steer your craft. dont bother to check if u missed your shot, just go to pilot and steer. I also find it easier to hook a shot when going behind or in front of thier legs. AI's stink most of the time for me.
It can be done, I've done it a few times but I've only actually managed to bring down one AT-AT through this technique. The other times I got close but I lost grip or got too close to the ground/bunkers etc.
To bring down/kill/destroy an ATAT on Hoth, do you always need a copilot? If not, can someone explain me how? Because I've done it several times with an AI copilot, but everytime I try to do it alone, by changing into copilot mode and attaching the tow cable and then switch back to main pilot, the cable seems to slip. Do I need more practice or is it impossible?
