apparently this game is being made by the same
company as RCT 3

also, aparently the company that made RCT 3 is being
sued by atari for stealing the game idea

What is/has happened is:

Atari originally commissioned Thrillville, Frontier took the game to LucasArts, because of this Atari was suing Frontier. But now ThrillVille is being distributed by Atari, in Europe and Asia, which is usually done by Activision.

I don?t really know why Frontier took the game to LucasArts though. But Atari has been having financial problems, and are/where being sued for $4.8 million in royalties by Chris Sawyer the founder of RCT3.

Nothing to do with the game idea from what I know.

"You could say that about Atari and even Frontier.

Atari or Fronier hadnt developed or published a theme park game until RCT3*

*as far as i know :p"

Not entirely true... Frontier made the expansion packs for RollerCoaster Tycoon 2... (Which were crap) So they did have some experience with it (Actually, they haven't considering that RCT3 is very buggy) Infogrames (Now part of Atari) published RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2.

I'm not that thrilled about this game, I don't own a console, and I consider it to be a total rip off of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. Why a game like this is being made for consoles only is pretty odd as well. But I don't want to see this game on the PC either...

Well, Thrillville might be dead because of this, and Traxion (or whatever the hell it is)is already dead. The Indy game has some potential, Lego Star Wars II will sell big with the kids, expansion for Empire at War will most likely sell at expectations, and Gaxalxies has a lot of work to do. So, in generalization, LA's most likely (in my opinion) has gone 3/6 this year.

Considering it took a great portion of the suggestions for/graphics/gameplay/sounds/etc. of RCT3, which has been well-established, it might be. Then again, it's on a console, so it probably won't be.

Doesn't look that compelling, roller coaster games are pretty much dead as a genre anyway. I'm not complaining about lack of Star Wars games, but this one doesn't look interesting, the new Indiana Jones game however, that looks interesting, especially since it has been a while since I've seen a good Indy game.

That's not true. If you buy a game for the X-Box, it won't run on a PS2. It's the same with a PC, you have to have the equipment.

Well, uh, !~NEWS-FLASH~! You can get game/joy pads for gaming computers! I've even seen Playstation controller transformers so you could plug it into a usb port on you pc! Though I do agree with you 60%. A console isn't going to get viruses or crash and burn like a pc sure can. And hey, when you buy a game for a console. It's guaranteed to work.

the only thing I like about the game is that it is on the X-Box, that's all, now I can make roller coasters and ride them on the Big Screen TV and not just the computer screen
