Still no luck. It appears that GameSpy, which hosts the game lobby, does not support the v1.0 dedicated server and will only display v1.1 dedicated servers in the SWBF PS2 game lobby.

Also I had no success getting XLink Kai to recognize my dedicated server. It would find the PS2 but not the PS running the server.

I'm new to SWBF1 and being a sucker for lost causes and old games I thought I would give running a dedicated server a try.

We have been successfully running multiple dedicated SWBF2 PS2 servers in 3 regions so we have some experience.

I did see the announcement from Lucas about pulling support for the patch and I can't say what I think about that on an open forum, lets just say it's not nice. I think the lack of the patch is the biggest issue.

It appears that there are 2 version of the dedicated server, v1.0 before the patch and version 1.1 after the patch. Since I am a late to this game I do not have the patch nor will I be able to acquire it. Lucas is no longer supplying it and it cannot be transferred or copied from one PS2 to another. This makes any PS2 without the patch incompatible with the v1.1 dedicated server.

To try to address this I installed an older download of the v1.0 dedicated server. I have found this works with my non-patched PS2 for running multiplayer LAN games. My server does not however appear on the in-game internet server list.

I have forwarded the following ports:

TCP/UDP 3658
TCP/UDP 3659
TCP/UDP 6500
TCP/UDP 27900

Most of these are the same ports used by our SWBF2 dedicated servers and they have no issues.

Looking for some constructive ideas.

P.S. I'm also looking at using XLink Kai to tunnel LAN games over the internet.

I need help with connecting online with my ps2 to star wars battlefront 1. I have been playing since it came out and I still love to play, I don't really like the game play on swbf2 and I'm still waiting for swbf3. On one of my consoles i can play just fine in the rooms, on my son's ps2 where you pick the room to go into the page is blank. I followed the troubleshooting tips which is erase patch, erase network config., and erase system on your mem. chip, basically starting from scratch, no help, i think it has to do with the patch, it's not downloading it anymore. I tried everything, different game, different cards, different consules, the patch transfers if you copy it onto a memory card but doesn't help, prob. cause its downloaded for a different consule, i have friends online that play this and some have the same problem, and some don't, can anyone help, i love playing this game with my clan and my son but now he cant play his-the only thing i can think of is that they don't have the patch available anymore, i emailed lucas tech support three days ago with no response......loyal star wars fan Masterjedi{G}
