I have played it with V1.0 for years. I patch it to V1.1 I get the "Wrong disk......." and SecuROM problem as well... I tried everything I searched for a few months... A few hopeful tried and nothing... I have formatted my Pc since, and now I tried playing it again, (V1.0) and i am still getting the same problem... Is there any hope, or are we all doomed...

There was some rumblings that it has to do with 1.1 domestic patch and to install the international one but that didn't work for me. I'm installing Windows 7 beta on my laptop right this second so I'll try it on there too haha. Shame my laptop is pretty bad...

It seems the BF2 support thread is more popular. Do you think any of you could come down to BF1 and help me with my problem?

I was having the problem of stereo mix on vista yesterday, then it worked, then I wake up this morning, and now this is the error I'm getting. I hear it has something to do with sata drives? The Securom "help" is no help at all.

This is SO annoying.

Ps I was using 1.1 yesterday when it worked. A no-cd would be the only thing I can think of but when you pay this much for a game it should work...

Usually I get the message that it can't authenticate within the time limit, but now I always get the backup disk error when I hit retry.

I have purchased this game a few weeks ago and decided to install it today - After patching to v1.1 I received this message when the original DVD was in my DVD drive.

I think fine - maybe it doesn't like Daemon tools running in the background, so I killed this program. Nope.
Now I start thinking, maybe it is my computer? I install BF2 on my notebook with a fresh Windows (and no background programs) - again, after patching to 1.1 it wouldn't let me start the game at all, actually not even at version 1.0.
I created a 1:1 copy of the disk, installed deamon tools on my notebook and the game would start, if I did not patch it to 1.1.

Now, I have done some research and read that Securom7 is blacklisting all drives that it considers as 'virtual drives' (maybe even real drives, who knows?).

I do want to play this game online (in case anyone is calling me out for using an illegal copy - I do have a valid key and I friggin want to compete against other people and not against Bots)
This is a royal pain since I can most likely play only on servers running version 1.0 (not sure tho), and maybe 2 servers are listed for my location.

To summarize it: The game runs only at v1.0, using Deamon Tools to mount an image of my CD, and only on my crappy 3yr old Notebook.
It does not work with v1.0, nor 1.1 using the original CD, even when Deamon Tools/similar programs weren't installed.

Seeing that this forum isn't really active, I doubt anything will be done with this issue at all. Probably yelling at a solid wall would help me more. Bleh.

okay, I bought Battlefront 2 a loong time ago, at it has worked fine. But now, I wanted the convopack 2.0 and i had to delete all my other mods and updates to get it to work, so I thought that it's easier if I just reinstall the whole game. So I did it but it shows an error screen every time I try to launch that says: "wrong disc inserted please insert the original battlefront II cd/dvd" I know that this usually comes from downloading torrents, but I bought this totally legally and it comes all the time, whatever I do. I downloaded the 1.1 patch, still doesn't work, I downloaded the 2.0 convopack, and still doesn't work, please help.

PS: I'm running it on an Windows XP
