I'm not trying to get anyone upset, but Fracture is the worst next-gen game I have played. I warn anyone to rent it before you buy it.....
I agree.
First, let me start out by admitting that I am not a big fan of "shooting" games. I am much more into RPG's but every now and again I get bored so I try something new. I have had this game since it came out and I am just getting around to playing it. I just started act 2 and I cannot figure how I am supposed to take down the radar arrays.
This game confuses the player constantly, puts you in situations where you need the asistance of your comrades but get none, the weapon needed is NEVER available, (such as 1 vortex grenade?) and the instructions to be carried out are never clear. They are shouted over your HUD audio while you are under fire. Where is the weapon that allows me to take out the enemy with one shot? I have to empty round after round just to ascertain the kill. And those flying, leaping, fire-bombing enemies? The ones that you can't find because your head cannot rotate in the air proprely to locate them????
If this is Lucas Arts answer to HALO, I am thoroughly UNIMPRESSED; though I am not a quitter. I will finish this game.....if only for the reason that I paid for it. But I seriously doubt if I will EVER play it again. As a suggestion Lucas Arts should consult *"Gears of War"....*so that you can shoot from behind cover......hell, so that there IS cover to shoot from behind (yes, I know that you can change the terrain to provide your own cover but that is only when on dirt and even then in select spots).
By the way, if someone can get me pass this stupid radar array I would greatly appreciate it!

owwww, i have to admit i read a review and someone said that at times the game slows down due to the xbox 360 but i havent had this problem but its best to be on the safe side . |

I might change my mind about playing. In a post I made about 360 problems someone said that they got the RROD from playing Fracture.

its a third person shooter m8, basically you can alter the terrain to give the edge in battle or to solve puzzles. good amount of weapons and a good storyline, i rate this game highly |

What is fracture about and what type of game genre is it? First Pesron, Third Persom, RPG, etc.

i just got it the other day and im blown away, the story line is good, the end of act one was great (very big thing appears... wont spoil it), the weapons are also a welcome change, act two was ok but the tunnel stuff became a bit repetitive and now im just starting act three and its all out war!, i like the upgrade stuff you get too like the shield beta/gamma, the puzzles are different and finally the cutscenes look good (the transport ships remind me of starship troopers :P)
Only slight downside is the 'shape the earth thing' seems limited in some areas but then again people would just sit there firing at the ground constantly so its ok.
Nice work LA and Day 1 studios.

I played it for a few mins...it was cool but kinda got a smuge....um....regular...I just played it for a levels. So I can't really give a compleate review on it.

I know what you mean. I've started the game three times, lowering the level each time, and still have not been able to seal the deal in the end game. On casual mode, I have fought Sheridan for more than three and a half hours at a time and still couldn't beat him. In that one, I managed to redden two of the sweet spots on a regular basis only to see Sheridan drop spikes that shielded him, healed him and spawned four more creepers (in addition to the regular two) to keep the player too busy to prevent the spikes from healing Sheridan. Note that the player has to restore shields on the run. I finally mis-timed an entrencher stomp, and had a vivid demonstration that any one of the creepers can take your shield down in one attack.

What bugs me most about the scenario is that it is not consistent with the game. Sheridan is deep in enemy territory, immediately after having his dreadnought taken down. Yet, on short notice, he has an arena set up with an infinite supply of his creepers.

In addition, Sheridan seems to have all the best abilities of his minions without any penalties. The player is reduced quickly to nothing more than a Pacifican SMG and the suit abilities which seem under powered when Sheridan connects.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the game. I just think the ending wasn't right for the story that unfolded.

really? i beat on the first try, i just keep using the double jump thing. It keeps the things in the ground away-for a bit.

Its fun.. I have a little trouble at first with aiming but it was more just getting used to the controls. Id more often hit the wrong button then there being any real issue with the game. The various terrian alterations make for interesting play though. Story is a bit weak so far.
