It never was.
When they rushed KotOR 2, and left all of us with a half finished game, we all knew enough to know we were never going ot get a proper ending.
Oh well. The Canon-apocalypse strikes once more. Is there anything left from the 'original canon' (the way it was when made) in any part of SW, anyway?

The one from the game, of course. The Revan from the book was kind of degraded to a symbol of how powerful the Emperor aka Darth Vitiate will be, in SWTOR, as Revan was defeated and imprisoned, just the way Malak imprisoned the defeated Jedi on the Star Forge, and kept somewhere between Life and becoming one with the Force to fuel the Emperors power. As it was said that time played no role in Revans current state, it is to be expected that he will reappear in the upcoming MMO.
Even though I said that the book is great, which is true, I must admit that after finishing the book yesterday, the ending hardly stroke me as satisfying, since it aims at being a prequel to the MMO, at the cost of KotORs and TSLs legacy, as the Exile was killed and Revan defeated in a rather unsightly way. Well, it seems that the KotOR fanbase isn't the aimed market anymore for good...

Jedi code? What jedi code?! If that is now canon, Revan just went from being a pretty cool character to a complete and utter idiot. (I really can't find the interest to read the kotor-era books.)

To answer the original question of this thread adequately: Revan wanted to take Bastila with him at first, but reconsidered when he had learned that she was pregnant.
For further questions read Drew Karpyshyns new book about Revan. It's great!

She was indeed quite useless. Not to mention horribly annoying. "Shut up, I'm trying to kill something!"
Which explains this drawing. Which is why I'd let my OC counterpart reflect my great dislike for some spoiled little Jedi Princess who goes by the name of Bastila Shan.
Revan pulled the classic 'Leave people behind to protect them' act.... Very original, Rev!

Bastila was useless. i used her to kill those two guys that went with me to the temple, and then i killed her!!!

Blame that on a rushed release. Originally there was an option in which atton went with the exile, but due to the deadline, they cut it (like so much more.)
The audiofiles are still there, and i think it was restored in the restoration project.

There's a lot of (unusual) pairings i can definatelly see working.. (even in Halo.. and i'm an author, i've written my fair share of the unusual pairings...) but Revan and Bastilla....no, sorry.

But lea, they were meant to be together ^^ and also , is not likely revan coundlt stay and help the republic... sometimes when i think of it , i wonder if he wasnt a little selfish with himself and others ( bastila) , and i dont think she was annoying

I played female Revan, so it didnt happen for me, (and i can understand why Revan would leave Carth....) but canonically:
Where Revan went he couldn't bring anyone with him, so he had to leave her behind. Also, he needed her to keep the republic strong. And lets face it, bastilla was utterly annoying! maybe she just drove him crazy |
