I agree, the Clone War series is not a good sign for lucas arts, it is completely breaking canon in many areas and even making the oringinal trilogy seem false. If Lucas doesent swing back to canon soon this will turn into no more than the old Marvel and DC comics with so many alternate universes the starwars name will fall away to become another cliche' of the good old days when starwars was more than just another way for a few people to make money.
the series is a compramise that takes away from the entire starwars galaxy, it cheapens it.

Note that I have moved the last several posts in this thread, as the conversation was getting too off-topic. You can find those posts in the new thread:

I would actually advise against reading the books, because although they are amazing they also end in a cliff hanger because as the post above mentions Karen Traviss stopped writing Star Wars books without releasing the 6th book.
Not sure if anyone saw this or if it means anything but Toys R Us is releasing some Republic Commando toys.

I know what you mean, the cliffhanger definatelly deserves an ending.
Sadly, with that atrocity they call "the clone wars cartoon" and their insistance to change canon to make it more appealign to 10 year olds, lucasarts actually pissed Traviss (the author of the books) off enough for her to quit writing the books.

i'll give it a try. I do have the Republic Commando: Order 66 book and Episode 1 as well. I just think Star Wars RC deserves a sequel with a good plot, simple backstory to the characters, and a decent ending rather than, and I'll say it again, Force Unleashed. Like I said, I will read the books.

First off, this is my idea. I'm not trying to start something, but this is how I envisioned it. Besides, this is the aftermath of Republic Commando and half-between Episode 3. So, yeah I haven't read the books, but I have followed every Star Wars genre as a kid. You are entitled to your opinion, but Republic Commando deserves a sequel, unlike the Force Unleashed. You may not like it, but this is how I feel on why Star Wars: Republic Commando should have a sequel.

Well, in the aftermath of Republic Commando, Delta Squad continue their mission in Kashykk. They battle a horde of droids, plus Transdoshians along with Clone Troopers and Wookies. They then encounter General Grievous, but were unable to beat him, so Fixer (Delta 40) plants a tracking device. Next there's a huge battle droid the size of a ranchor. This one has big mechanical weapons. Delta Squad tries to destroy it, but becomes to powerful. Before all hope was lost, Sev (Delta 07) helps his brothers once more and reunites with them. They go to Utapau to find Grievous and to meet Mace Windou. Kaminow is when Delta Squad betrays the Jedi. Felucia, where they face a Jedi Knight and on Corrusant is the first ever space battle in Republic Commando. Then you face Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda revisiting Corrusant. And the final level, Malachor V. So what do you think?

Yea, shame they did that after they drove off Traviss with their stupidity. Although i suppose if you never read the novels it wouldn't matter much.

For PC it could work to put it on Steam and/or GFWL, maybe even add DX10 and DX11 support while their at it.

Right now I'm actually doing another playthrough of Republic Commando, and it's amazing how much coolness I forgot was in this game. The game is gem in my PC collection seeing how the graphics have barely aged as well as the gameplay. I hope if they make another Republic Commando they do the graphics and gameplay justice seeing how RC was a pivotal "pre-current gen" title before you had PS3s and Xbox 360s.
If anything I wouldn't mind if they went with the current trend and released an "HD Remake" for PSN and XBLA to pull in new potential fans, and I'm pretty sure NOBODY in their right mind would complain about the graphics or other material.
