I have had the exact same problem as listed above. I just bought this game for my eight year old yesterday and today bought an old copy of Metroid the other M. I also tried to update the Wii and was told that my wii has the latest update.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem. We were enjoying the game and do not want to bring it back.
I have tried everything and need some help
thanks in advance.

jader3rd, you are my new hero. I rented Metroid The Other M, played it for about 5 minutes, and, just like you said, force repulse now works perfectly. I didn't even notice an update (but a lot was going on in my house and I was distracted while the game loaded), but whatever it did, it fixed force repulse in Star Wars, the Force Unleashed 2. Thank You!

Nice find. Evidently your Wii needs that update, but it's glitched and only sometimes works.

This is interesting. Like I posted earlier I had this problem. Since I was having this problem I gave up on playing Force Unleashed and started playing Metriod: Other M. When I put Metroid in the Wii for the first time it applied an update to the Wii (It's the only game I've seen do this). Now that I've completed Other M I figured I'd give Force Unleashed another try. Now the force repel work instantly.
So trying renting a Metroid: Other M disk, and then see if Force Unleashed II works.

I understand the Wii does need an update to play the game, but if I understand correctly the game installs it when you start the game.

Google searches show others have had this problem. No solutions however. Most people don't seem to have the issue. My wii is not online; I wonder if a missing update might be the problem... Is it possible? Woe is mii (:

I'm in the same situation. I get to the bottom of the elevator shaft, the little box says to hold Z and A, which I do and the only thing that happens is the force bar drains empty.
Force Repel doesn't work at all, and as a result I can't progress in the game.

Force repel won't work - I can't force repel

I am in the initial escape stuck after Darth Vadar collapses my elevator. There is a bunch of debris blocking the way. I have tried literally for a couple of hours to force repel my way through. I've tried:
holding Z then A
holding Z and A at the same time
holding Z then B
holding Z and B at the same time
I have followed all of the above with
moving the wiimote up and down
moving the wiimate and nunchuck up and down
moving the nunchuck up and down
I have tried all of the above while targeting the debris with the blue circle and without doing so.
My wiimote and nunchuck work normally otherwise, and I have never had trouble mastering the controls or using combinations of buttons, etc. in any other of the dozen games I own.
Sometimes I hear a pulse in the noise while attempting to charge force repulse, other times not.
I've tried on normal and easy and with upgrading force repulse and without upgrading it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
