YES! Completely agree with every word here. Although lucas arts could be planning to finsh the second half of tfu2 in the third games aswell as the original gameplan. Doing this would result in a longer game. But tfu2 was horrible.
I always get my games from the same shop, and have become good friends with most of the staff. When I asked about this game, I was warned off by 2 of the staff. They said it wasn't that good and that a huge number of customers who had purchased SW: TFU2 had returned the game or traded it in, and this was within weeks of its release.
One of them said that for every 10 copies sold, more than half were comming back into the store!
In my local game-store's pre-owned section:
Red Dead Redemption: Very few copies.
AC Brotherhood: Very few copies.
Fallout New Vegas: Very few copies.
Halo Reach: Very few copies.
Fable III: Very few copies.
Mass Effect 2: Very few copies.
Deadspace: Very few copies. (Old game)
Batman Arkham Asylum: Very few copies. (old game)
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2: Loads and loads of copies!!!
Remember: If your thinking of buying a game, first check how many copies are in the pre-owned section of the store. If there are a lot of copies, then the likelyhood is, that the game is flawed. If there are hardly any copies then the game is good.
I know it was a lot shorter than we all expected (and I understand yours and most everybody else's stance) but personally, I don't know what it is... but digesting the story in one sit is like I'm taking part in a movie or something. I don't know... Maybe I'm in denial because I bought the collectors edition, but I still enjoyed TFU2 more than the first. I'd say if there was at least one decent challenge, like an infinite stormtrooper wave trail, I'd be happier. But I still enjoyed it. There's no doubt that we need a longer campaign for the 3rd though.
May the force be with you... Always.
All I have to say is that we as a community got what we asked for. The reviews (atleast for the 360/PS3) called for a better camera system, smoother controls, better graphics, and more variety.... and we got all of those.
Yes, but the length and the story were very mediocre. And that makes the game way worse than the first one.
i got tfu 2 for the wii and i love it one of the best games i have played on the wii i agree that it was short and we never got to know if starkiller realy is a clone but the gameplay and over all story was great
All I have to say is that we as a community got what we asked for. The reviews (atleast for the 360/PS3) called for a better camera system, smoother controls, better graphics, and more variety.... and we got all of those. I played the original over the holiday break and I couldn't even finish the first level it felt so awkward. The controls felt slow, the frame rate was dropping constantly, and cutscenes were subpar. It was just hard to enjoy after playing TFU2. I personally think TFU2 is a big step forward for the engine and will defend that it is the better of the two games. Could/Should the campaign have been longer? Sure. So hopefully LucasArts is gracious enough to take all of our complaints and badmouthing as constructive criticism and give us a longer campaign for the 3rd.
Or maybe all corporations and every single employee working for that company is out to steal our hard earned money while laughing in our faces about it... sarcasm
he got his praising and critique exactly where the majority of players feel. The problem is LucasArts, they do not deserve the Star Wars license. I am glad that TOR is predicted to not make any profit for them and that EA is the only one that is going to gain from it. It seems karma strikes again
What are you talking about? I completely agree with the criticism. I've been looking forward to this for months. I finally got the game for Christmas, and starting playing... And was done with it in about 5 hours. It WAS too short. However, if the game had been well done, then this would have been fine. The problem is the game ends without actually resolving the main issue in the plot. We never find out whether or not Starkiller is a clone. There are basically only three levels, and no real plot throughout the game. You're never really sure where the game is going, except that the main character is having an identity crisis... which is never resolved. What should have been the midpoint of the game turns out to be the end. I feel like I wasted a Christmas present, not to mention an evening, on something that just left me feeling disappointed and disgusted. I love the first Force Unleashed. I feel like this game only shames that one. There had better be a third, and I can only hope it makes up for this one. I can tell you I'll rent the third before I buy it, though.
Wow.......I don't know what your talking about TFU2 is awesome! I agree it's to short but it has awesome story and great graphics and I only have it on wii. It's REALLY fun and thats all l care about.
The overall story was short and to the point, Multiplayer is awesome, all the costumes look cool, it has all the lightsaber colors and great replay value! im not sure how the other versions are but I have few complaints.
When I first heard that this game was going to be released this fall, I was ecstatic. The first game (SW:FU 1) was revolutionary. Yes, it had some glitches and gameplay issues, but essentially, it was a breath of fresh air and an awesome gaming experience. I had been waiting for a game like this since the "Jedi Knight" series. What could be better than tearing sh*t up with your lightsaber and the Force?
Euphoria allowed you to kill enemies again and again and again and again in a number of ways limited only by your own imagination and DMM let you get really creative with the environment.
As a true Star Wars fan, I can't think of a better evening than downing a few cold ones while laying waste to hostile planets and legions of imperial troops. The first game had immense replay value because there was so much to do.
There was also a nice depth to the first game. We witnessed the development of a new protagonist, and it was exciting to be along for the ride while he developed his own personality and style. We witnessed the creation of the Rebellion and we participated in an epic duel with Vader.
The Force Unleashed II should have been EPIC....but it wasn't......it actually really sucked......
First of all, the game was sooooo SHORT! C'mon Lucasarts! Try remembering the days of Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast or X-wing vs. TIE Fighter. You guys used to have standards....you used to care that the games you produced would be loved and played over and over again.
Don't get me wrong, the graphics in FU II were beautiful. I loved the visuals, and the return of both DMM and Euphoria were fabulous, but I felt like I spent more time watching cinematics than I did actually playing the game. What a waste of money.
Think about a game like Assassin's Creed or AC:II.....these games take at least 50 hours to beat. They get you involved in the story and make you feel that you are somehow invested in their universe. SW:FU II felt like you had finished half of the game and just decided to release it because you needed to make a quick buck. Lucas Arts should be proud to uphold a reputation for excellence, not shortchanging fans by releasing a half-finished game to boost stock prices.
You know that this experience was only half done....why release the game? The concept was great, the engines are great, the physics are great.....so WHY DESTROY THE ******* FRANCHISE BY RELEASING A CRAPPY VERSION OF THE GAME THAT COULD HAVE PASSED FOR THE DEMO?
Why didn't we get to experience Dagobah? Why didn't we get to fly in space (like Halo: Reach?)? Why didn't we get to run some shady side missions and actually experience some real character development?
I feel really cheated by this game. The concept was there. The engines were there. Your graphics team was on target....WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE THE TIME TO PROPERLY DEVELOP THE GAME?
Star Wars is an epic franchise, and every game released from LucasArts should reflect this. Instead, I felt cheated and violated. I would rather that you waited to release the game next year than that you rushed it out half-finished in this short, crappy format.
If you care about your fans, you should release a massive amount of free downloadable missions and apologize for the piece of **** that you tried to pass off as a true sequel. I've downloaded games for $9.99 that had more content than the FU II.
Star Wars Fans: UNITE! Please comment here and let LucasArts know that we are very unsatisfied with their game and that they need to do something about it.
