Your claims needed to be shot down again, just to reinforce the issue, LOL. Also, Republic Commando could have been far better on the PC (despite the fact that it was a port it WAS still pretty good) and the first person mode in Battlefront means nothing. The controls are LOOSE, meaning they don't respond as fast as they should even with the sensitivity turned up.

Ok 1: My claims were already shot down, no need to bring up something dead.

2: You have never played Republic Commando have you. Plus the Battlefront games can switch to first person.

Why are you all whining?

Because us PC users got used to being treated like valued customers by Lucasarts in the 1990s and not like the castoff rejects we are now.

Did you ever think that maybe most types of games
would be better off on a console? Games for consoles
RARELY lag and you don't have to worry about it
having the items needed to run said game. Yes the PC
has advantages but not as much as a console.

Better off on a console? Why don't you pull out that copy of Half-Life 2 and tell me what it's better on? Rarely lag...what PC games are you playing that have lag? That hasn't been a serious issue for years; we're all on broadband now. The necessary 'items'? Consoles only keep up because companies dumb down the graphics when they port to consoles. At least we can upgrade and stay on the edge. Consoles are like Macs...when the technology advances, just throw it out and get a new one.

Now that consoles are getting the ability to connect
to the internet they are basically smaller cheaper
PCs.

That can't do anything except play games, music and movies. I don't know about you but after a reached the age of 12 I needed to do more than that on a regular basis. Considering what you get in either case, the console is not that much 'cheaper'.

Now FPS games can work on both a console AND the PC,
but I DO think that RTS games are better off on the
PC.

I agree with you in this case...so where are all the RTS games that Lucasarts should be producing to keep us PC jocks happy? Also, where are the FPS games that 'work on both'...seems to me they're only on console.

SLASH Slash Slash Slash....

" Will you stop +mutilating that grunt+?! "
" I'm sorry It's just so addictive... heh heh... "
" Get in the Scorpion and drive away... NOW! "
" No can do... Grunty needs me."
" That's it " (Pulls out Spiker) " You're going DOWN! "
" ARGHHH" (Huge battle ensues UNSC VS UNSC VS Covenant, Elites, and Flood )
Master Chief joins the rebelling UNSC forces.

That would be fun...!
Fracture would be too. They could add in an adjustment feature so you can adjust how high you want to raise/lower the terrain.

Thought of that too... when the WII came out I used the motion sensor for PC for a school marketing project. The only problem I can see with it would be small screens... I suppose since it's a "sequel" to the Game Cube they either didn't give much thought to graphics or didn't think the system could handle movement via WII- mote and graphics too...Plus Halo needs to come out for WII...lol

They should re-make the WII with
better graphics capability. THAT would be nice.

I know! If the Wii had 360 or PS3 grpahics then it would have been so awesome. It would have been revolutionary. Unfortunatly it only has motion sensor, and the graphics are kind of sad. Oh well, we just have to wiat and see what the next set of consoles bring to the table.

(or motion sensor for PC)

Maybe not from the 90's I am not quite sure how old my friend's computers are but they are old. At least as old as 2000. My point is clear though, you don't have to have a gaming computer to play next-gen. Most of the Next-gen my friend plays are either newer RTS games or FPS games. They should re-make the WII with better graphics capability. THAT would be nice.

unlikely since 1990-2000 computers can play
next-gen games usually)

I think the PC is really good, but i have to disagree with you there. Almost no PC from the 90's can play a next gen game, for that matter any xbox/PS2 game either unless they were rebuilt with an updated processor and graphics card.

Most computers 2003 and up can play next gen pretty good, if they have 6150 GeForce or better, then they can play the games quite nicely. But not comp's from the 90's.

The only real "advantages" of consoles is the
controller, which can work for computers as well via
USB port.

True, the controller is one of the biggest reasons consoles are popular. Also, consoles are cheap for the quality they give you.

But ya, PC's do have controller's too, so its not that big of a deal. Controllers used to suck for the PC, which is why most people disregard them, but now controllers for the PC's are just as good as the next gen's.

I have a console and a PC, i use the PC mainly for Simulation,RTS games, and MMO's and the console for RPG, Shooters, and Action games.

Hard, yes maybe, but if you get the hang of it you can make infinitely more detailed maps with scripts, etc. I like map-makers anyway because even if you don't understand how to use them a hundred thousand other people will always become better than the creators at using it. Either way more maps come and either way you get to play them =-) Plus, even if you can't download things you can acquire maps by playing online. when you play on a map you don't have then it is automatically transferred to your computer.

Just to give another point of view (I do not agree with it but...) Console RTS games work on hotkeys. One takes you to base, one takes you to the largest conflict, etc. These, while not making up for fluency and quick short-distance troop movement these allow you to maneuver through the map quickly and get things done faster than normal. If I was for consoles I would argue (irrationally) that 360 needs a version too. It would be irrational though because anyone who has a console has a PC too so the only reason to complain is if your computer cannot handle modern games (unlikely since 1990-2000 computers can play next-gen games usually) and in that case, if you have a console (meaning if you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on gaming), you can usually afford to update your PC a bit. I obviously disagree with RTS games being console-exclusive.

My point of view is right alongside yours. You NEED the precision of a mouse especially in games where you can run over and nuke things. You need to be able to respond quickly and fluently to an evolving battlefield. Without speed you take high casualties. This applies to Halo Wars especially because of the MAC cannons and the Scarabs, Scorpions and other heavy mechs. Unless you move fast you loose armies. If RTS games can't be only for the PC they should at least be for the PC as well as consoles...

Yeah RTS games should be only for the PC. For a game like that you need the precision of a mouse.

I don't really count the map maker as a bonus, that thing is dang hard to figure out.

C&C 3 was also released on the 360. Don't know if it was inferior or something.

I've never really gotten into Final Fantasy but games like Halo 3, Fracture, The Force Unleashed, Indiana Jones, Battlefront III. Those I would want.
Yes, Halo Wars is an RTS version of Halo with several made-up units for the game. Here's a link-
http://halowars.com/
It looks good but... no PC =-(
Anyway BFME II for 360 had no War of the Ring, no Hero Builder, and only 4 player. Compared to the PC version which has War of the Ring and Hero Builder, 8 player, a mapbuilder, mods, and more maps.

Halo wars is an RTS?

There are just some games that should be left for console only. Like Final Fantasy, I don't think their battle system would work well on the PC. Granted they have made some that can go on the PC but they didn't seem to do as well as their Playstation counter-part.

Halo Wars is 360 exclusive. =-(
There are several others but I cannot think of them at the moment.
As far as I know PC is on the Rise, not the downfall.
And yes, ram get pretty high now too. My comp is an average one as I said so I just have 140 gb and 1 gb ram but gaming computers are another story... Mine works fine with that though so...

Companies that have tried to abandon PC quickly returned to it so I hope that this is the case with LA... Why can't everything be universal? Consoles AND PCs? That would be a nice world wouldn't it?

Perhaps another reason LA is starting to go console only is because the PC game industry has been suffering. People are buying games mostly for the console (yes even games for both console and PC) now I ask you, what would be a better idea, continuing to make games for the industry that is making more money, or appease people who 'refuse' to buy a console?

BTW I only know of BFMEII on the console. Have they made other RTS games for them?

Oh one more thing. You had better have some nice ram for the 1000 GBs.

"BTW. You can switch out PS3 hard drives for bigger ones. (have to be laptop size)"

Good for PS3. My intentions in the above post were to point out that with some hard drives it would almost be difficult to fill up your memory on a PC

And yet, with all of the potential, all of the advantages of the PC thay won't give us a version of the game. A lot of people like to just game on their computers to take a break from work or whatever else and we would like to be included in LA's Next-Gen spree. But as all can see, we are not included, and that is why we are "whining"
