I am making a space combat simulator. The idea would be to have the polish and attention to details that made Tie Fighter such a good game.

You can check the game and a proof of concept video here:
http://www.starwarssquadrons.com

*Note that the game has a third-person camera only because I am not an artist and can not make a good looking cockpit.

A new Star Wars game could be a new Jedi Knight. The game would be action and adventure in third person. The combat system would like in Jedi Academy but it would have to improve the fight with guns. The combat system would focus on fight with lightsaber and Force powers.

The Force powers would like Advent Rising powers, because those powers are much more impressive than the powers of Jedi Academy. The powers of the Force would be better and would have news. Force sense as a radar. Possibility of charging force push and force pull. Force push, force pull, force lightning and force drain might be regulated in scope and range, so that more scope, lower range, and vice versa. Auto-regenerative psychokinetic shield. Force choke to grab several objectives, to grap inert objects and to grap living beings without harming. Force rage would be activated automatically when you've given enough consecutive hits in enemies. Force cryokinesis and force pyrokinesis.

Enhancements lightsaber with silencer and dimmer for infiltration missions. To convert a double-bladed lightsaber in two sabers, because the double-bladed lightsaber would be more effective against duelists and two sabers would be more effective against shooters. To convert a lightsaber in a lightwhip for long-range attacks. Use of cable-hook and armor.

The enemy would have to have better AI, higher rate of fire and more variety. Soldiers, animals, robots, vehicles and Force users. Within the Force users would have Force vampires, which would be enemies below protagonists in power but very strong, fast and heal very quickly, but would be bad in psychokinesis. But the enemies that would match the main character would remain Siths.

The game will focus on combat and puzzles in singleplayer, like the style of Jedi Outcast.

The game would be set in the era where Jedi and Sith are more powerful. The name of the game could be Jedi Master for example.

Naval Combat Simulator. Fly anything from the smallest starfighter (for those x-wing series fans :)) to the biggest dreadnought. The ideas related to this i came up with are so massive they deserved its own thread

Playing through Batman Arkham Asylum and City, which are 2 of my favourite games this generation, all I could think was how much the combat made me feel like a Jedi; single handedly managing a large crowd of hostiles with practically preemptive reaction times, and therefore how amazing a Star Wars game with a similar combat system could really be!

Obviously using a light saber and force powers will mean that the enemies are dispatched much more easily than by Batman's fists and nonlethal gadgets, but hopefully this can be counterbalanced by having larger crowds of enemies to fight than in the Batman games which will likely be hordes of droids or clones/troopers. The attack, counter, stun, evade quartet used in Batman could remain largely the same and the gadget modifier could be assigned force powers rather than gadgets. The enemies using blasters would mean that there would likely be a dedicated light saber block button like that used in Force Unleashed, especially when not in combat mode (perhaps holding stun could simply reflect blaster fire towards where you are aiming both in direct combat and roam modes), but hopefully the fact that you will often be surrounded by enemies in combat would mean that them using blaster fire would not be practical as it could kill their allies.

While this system could obviously work in numerous styles of games I actually imagine a story based action adventure game in the vein of the Force Unleashed would suit it well. This could either be a more user directed experience in the style of a 3rd person Deus Ex or even a much more linear experience like the Uncharted games.

Again, this game could work in the context of any Jedi story however I feel like the story if Exar Kun would lend itself well to being retold in a game. The story of a Jedi who is tempted and succumbs to the lure of the Dark Side of the Force only to kill his Sith master and become the Sith Emperor, and who eventually meets his final end at the hand of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and his padawans thousands of years later. The numerous exploits of Kun could make for at least a trilogy of games and would ensure that the development team would have a strong narrative foundation to work from without needing to constantly pay homage to the more popular narrative set pieces and characters, as was seen in the Force Unleashed, as the story would take place largely, if not entirely, before the formation of the Galactic Republic and after the fall of the Galactic Empire.

I have to say that Lucas Arts out of all the software generating companys..has lagged behind its peers..but yet has the best concept/material to draw original and popular game material from. This said x-wing vs tiefighter, secret weapons of the Luftwaffe are classic games that people LOVED. Then comes games like monkey island and such that people really didn't get into for the most part. Star Wars forces of corruption/empire at war was VERY popular and yet they stopped after the one add on (forces of corruption). This game could have gone on another 2 add ons..or even further development and made into a much bigger game.....say a x-wing/tiefighter on a EVE ONLINE scale... involving multiple players.... They could have focus just on space combat....fighter pilot lines and even ship vs ship combat....capitalship lines. There is not one child or adult that doesn't wish he or she was flying an x-wing or at the bridge/ command consol of a Star Destroyer. Games such as EVE online, World of tanks, World of Warcraft..have HUGE followings...and again the product///material is nowhere as POPULAR as STAR WARS.... yet lucas arts has not put forth the money or time into generating a game line that would last and generate income for years to come. Lucas Arts has the ABILITY... to put for such quality games but as of yet has not taken the wishes of the fans nor given its attention or ability to make these games for the fans. I wish they would stop coming out with half hearted games and or games that are just arcade first shooters....... recent years have just focused on ground combat....more needs to be done on the other area's of fan interest....in specific....space combat and capital ships and the galaxy...planets..that genre of story line development. I know it probably won't happen but I can only wish that it would happen before I'm 60 and i'm 40 now...so lets see what disney does with this opportunity to put star wars where it should be .... at the FOREFRONT of game development. We the fan's would surely reward you for this investiment.

My initial idea involved a game about Bounty Hunters but I think it would be possiblle to insert other classes. I don't know if I speak for anyone eles other than me here but I think that what I would like more than anything would be to have other classes with different stories. Nothing prevents those storylines from crossing at some point, but it would be awesome to have the massive replayability of knowing you have at least 2 different games in one. I don't have any plot ideas yet because the first thoughts were mechanics-related. That is also why the main class that came to mind were bounty hunters. Initially, I'm thinking of some sort of specialization inside the class like ToR, for example.

The idea is that you have mainly 2 big "factions". You can quest for each one of them inside massive planets and systems. The nature of the quests (considering that your char can only be a BH) are mainly hunting people down and either executing them or bringing them in for your rewards. You can earn money and XP to upgrade weaponry and armor and skills. The main "twist" I've been thinking about is that whenever you go too far up in one "faction" (respect), the other starts to try and get you out of the way (bounty) for obvious reasons. The climax in all that would be you, as a player, being hunted by other players trying to claim your bounty (I haven't given much thought about this if other classes were to be involved, só feel free to help). So the top BH of one faction will be hunting for the other faction's top. I've been thinking about it and I think that some sort of Fallout (New Vegas, for example) party system (just you and a couple others) would be an interesting idea. There would be 'people' around the planets that would be willing to come with you and could provide some sort of perk or whatever.

So it doesn't just become a fancy PvP-like game I was thinking that whenever you have a bounty on your head NPCs start watching your moves. When you interact with ANY NPC in the game you leave behind a "trace" that can either be information given by people who saw you and knew where you were headed or information about what kinds of items you had equipped ( Instead of getting a mission to kill "Insert Name here" and “He is THERE”, you would get something on the lines of "There is a Bounty Hunter we want out of the way. Last we saw him he was wearing bright pink jetpack and lime green clothing and was seen around "wherever". Then you have to actually HUNT for them. You have to get your own leads, you have to know what are their characteristics and make your move whenever you're ready.

I thought about random infiltration missions that would involve a clean kill of a storm trooper, for example (or maybe some sort of black market with extremely expensive items such as clothing of other factions só you don't have to do the clean killing bit if you have the credits to spare). If you damage him too much you won't be able to acquire the clothing necessary for the infiltration. Those missions would then become either steal some sort of item or execute someone, for example.

For the idea to work the world(s) would have to be massive and densely populated (Like Assassin's Creed 3 in the sense tht the cities are densely populated and you have lots of open areas to explore). The worlds should be bigger than that, though. So the game doesnt get boring really fast there should be dynamic quests. That means cantina fights, invasions of sorts (invading the other faction's HQ) a living world that can change when necessary (Every time someone really important dies, someone else takes its place. For example, a Jedi master dies so a Jedi Knight becomes a Master and so on and a new random padawan appears to fill the gap). Starship battles, boarding maasive starships, ambushing caravans.

My initial thoughts involved multi layered environments meaning that you can be in the right place and your objective is on a different layer. Also no lvl restricion to areas. You go in at your own risk. You can get quests by talking to NPCs, or simply finding the dynamic ones. No lvl requirements but obviously a fixed difficulty so you will have to work really hard to manage it if you're at a lower lvl. Partys could be arranged for that sort of mission (?) and loot could be distributed evenly (money and XP) or it can be some sort of WoW's Master Looter, where one person is responsible for distributing the spoils.

Combat:

  • The idea is to have a very active (Battlefront-like) combat. you control your every movement (3rd person view) and aim and you are the one responsible for doing it properly (no dodge and chance to hit stats(If you're a Jedi or Sith, for example you would have a block button that could also be responsible for deflection of sorts)). On the other hand, stuff like increased range and damage could be very interesting for a BH that doesn't want direct combat.
  • I thought about different types of BH. Not just the well known Jango Fett style, but also a rogue-like killer, a saboteur specialist and so on. Each one would have different skills (and I mean DIFFERENT). Random Example Very high lvl saboteur specialist learns of your location and instead of going in for the kill he will sabotage your transport (ship?) and wait for you to get on it to explode you with it. Maybe have different ship upgrades (EMP-esque weapons?) that could
disable your ship/jetpack/armor.

So in a very superficial look, you could go from someone in "normal clothes" that can easily blend in with the world that prefers stealth kills to a heavily equipped BH that can be recognised instantly, but obviously will stay as far away as possible.

Obviously, there would be missions to kill Jedis/Siths and those would be extremely hard for one person but absolutely doable with good strategy and gear. I'm thinking of Jedi Ranks; From Padawan to Master and your reward would be the lightsaber. Can't be used but can be sold for very high amounts of money (Obviously, XP rewards are given according to the difficulty of the kill and the amount of players.)

This is one of the main reasons I wanted the game to be extremely dynamic and able to change. I don't want people to have to kill the same target (Jedi/Sith, or whatever) over and
over again. I want players to kill different targets every time and a Random Number Generator would create new chars with new names and new characteristics.

I'm thinking of a WoW-like amount of transport methods. Ground and air ones. Different prices and different sizes and capabilities. A crap ground mount would have almost no fuel and
no "special abilities" whereas a top end flying one would have many "special abilities" like stealh, shield, heavy weaponry and so on. If the space between the planets is a place you
can explore then I'm thinking space battles. 1 on 1 chases or massive fleets battling. I'm thinking that every vehicle should have main stats like Health, manouverability and fuel capacity.
That way you can't just fly forever if being chased, for example. You would be forced to think of a strategy and act as soon as possible. The top ships would have better manouverability,
fuel capacity and health as well as the "special abilities".

Full Char Customization:
Facial and body customization as well as voice sets (sort of like Dragon's Dogma's but with Star Wars Universe's characteristics)
Many races to choose from, including droids, humans, mandalorians and many others

RPG Features:
Items - MANY ITEMS
Gear customization
LOTS of skills

Massive Open World:
Many planets to explore (Initial idea) each with different characteristics and quests. Ultimately, they all have some sort of allegiance to one of the 2 “factions” so whatever your actions on those planets your bounty and respect would be added accordingly.

The transports should go from very cheap and crap to VERY expensive and win.
There should be some sort of arena – Hutts come to mind immediately
I was thinking of some sort of money sink here where you can bet on the duels and watch them as they happen (thinking of the geonosian arena or something like it) and maybe pod racing (piloting for prizes or just betting on them)

Items (a few of the examples I had in mind):
Grappling hook – Unlimited, fast (Higher levels increase the reeling speed and the range)
Jetpack – Flight range limited by fuel , medium speed (Higher levels increase fuel capacity and speed)
Flame thrower – Limited by fuel, short range, medium damage (Higher levels increase fuel capacity, range and damage)
Wrist missile – Medium range, limited amount, high damage (Higher levels increase capacity and damage)
Poison Darts – High range, high damage, very limited amount (Higher levels increase damage)
Explosives – Melee range, limited amount, very high damage (Higher levels increase damage and capacity)
Blaster pistol – Medium range, unlimited, medium damage (Higher levels increase damage)
ground and air vehicles – Speed and Health increase according to price.

I don't even know if that would be possible (maybe next gen?). What do you guys think?

It's already confirmed it will be released to PC.

My idea was creating from this May. Star Wars: An Empire Divided, as I call it, is place between the end of A New Hope (1977) to Battle of Endor.

You may choose between two heroes: young Jedi girl padawan, Thana Lightrunner, and Darrak Tarkin - no connections with Grand Moff Tarkin -, one of best students of Imperial Academy on Mannan, and the Emperor himself sees a great potential in it.

SW: AED is a mix of RPG and Real-Time Strategy (like Empire at War + KOTOR), where you can level up your character, choose between light or dark side choices, build fleets and armies (at the beginning, building bases and space fleets is forbidden, due to your starting positions).

Storyline:
Rebellion (Thana)-
IN A GALAXY, FAR, FAR AWAY...

Galactic Civil War is at its height. After the destruction of Death Star at Yavin IV, what have caused the cripple between the Imperial Moffs and the Emperor. Minor Imperial systems have claimed independence and joined to the Rebel Alliance.

Emperor Palpatine, enraged on traitorous moffs and rebel dissidents, who have destroyed the sign of Imperial power, unleashed his dark apprentice, Darth Vader, to execute the traitors and crush the Rebellion once and for all.

Meanwhile, a lone jedi master, who have survived Order 66, have hidden on Dantoonie with his young girl padawan and they were hiding before the Empire well. Now, as the war takes its taxes, Rebel troops have landed on the planet to rebuild their old base and asked found Jedi to protect them against the Emperor's rage...

Empire (Darrak)
IN A GALAXY, FAR, FAR, AWAY...

Defeat! Battle station with enough firepower to destroy an entire system, plan of Grand Moff Tarkin, The Death Star, has been destroyed above Yavin IV by the courageous Rebel Alliance.

After this huge defeat of Imperial Navy, many moffs of minor systems have betrayed the Emperor and changed sides from the Empire to the Rebellion. Darth Vader is sent by his dark master to cleanse the galaxy of the Rebellion.

At this time, on Manaan, Imperial forces have found a jedi, hiding in underground system, and are unsuccessful to terminate him. Moff, leading Manaan, decided to choose the best of the Imperial Academy to join to the troops to kill a Jedi. One of them is a young student, who is in the eye of the Emperor for some time...

Game will take place on many famous Star Wars universe planets (Tatoonie, Naboo, Hoth, Kessel, Korriban...), meet new SW characters (Moff Garada, Field-Commander Gruudo, Master Yolinar Broon...) and known characters...

Relive the Original Trilogy and save the galaxy...or it will be the Downfall of the Rebellion?

Answer to this if you want to tell what to improve...

My idea for a new star wars game is a lot like the other suggestions many people have already had on here but here's my idea anyways. They should make a new starwars game for Xbox 360 and ps3 that is a free roam like skyrim with the options to choose your race and wether or not you want to be a soldier, Jedi, bounty hunter, or sith. You would start off as a padowan or soldier in training and you can customize your look and weapons. You could also do a main quest with hundreds of side quests like skyrim but always have the option to go where ever you want when you want. You could level up your force powers or guns as you progress through the game learning new skills and gaining experience points like in the force unleashed. The controls for the force unleashed and the skills you had as a Jedi were perfect and would be very ideal in a new free roam star wars game. The best part of this game would be to have a piece of land to live on and you could go and buy a ship, particularly a junky one that you can buy parts for and customize yourself and then getting in it and leaving the planet you were currently on to go fly in open space and visit and explore other planets. This would easily make the game much more difficult and expensive to create but it would also make the game 100 times better. Being able to participate in space fights and fly through asteroid fields would be great too. Having the option to do a 1st and 3rd person view and being able to buy your own r2-d2 to tag along on your space flights to help repair your ship or keep you company. Also being able to buy a land speeder for faster travel on ground and jet packs for soldiers and bounty hunters. To add to the fun you could be able to invite friends into your game to explore the world with you. I know this game would be basically impossible to make but it would be so much more fun especially to not have to play on the computer like The old republic. I think it would be so much fun to have 2 or 3 planets you could fly to in your ship trying to avoid enemy fighter ships and exploring the land. I think if this game were possible it would become the best selling video game out. Eventually they could make updates that include another planet nearby to explore or more quests to complete. This is just my idea but it would be amazing to have a game like this.

The Skyrim/Fallout 3 engine is a 10 year old outdated engine with a lot of redundant code from previous games. (Because Bethesda is too stupid to realize that causes bugs. Like backwards flying dragons.) Using that engine for anything is a bad plan. Skyrim should never have passed the quality control Bethesda claims to have. (I still love the game, that's not the point. We modders will fix what the company 'can not'.)

Skyrim is Fallout 3's first release with different textures. All the old bugs were there. To the capacity that they released a patch a day before the release. We found bugs they missed and they quickly patched it so nobody would notice. (And send out a claim that piracy is evil just so people wouldn't believe us.)

You just know 80% of the US is going to rage about the Drugs... Just for that I say, make it! xD

I don't know about you guys but I absolutely feel that Star Wars need one open-spaced RPG (note: I said RPG and not MMORPG) just like Skyrim or New Vegas, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II are the two best RPGs the Star Wars serie have (note: I said RPGs not MMORPGs) and they're like 8 years old, Now Star Wars is more into MMORPG and it killed RPG, now in my opinion Star Wars should do something similar to Skyrim and New Vegas, that's why I think Lucasarts should do something with Bethesda and/or Obisidian Entertainment to make a huge, non linear, open spaced RPG just like Skyrim or New Vegas. Don't get me wrong, the KotOR series was sure freakin' awesome but it could've been even better if they had some stuff from the Fallout and TES series. Also Obisidian Entertainment already worked on New Vegas and KotOR II so I think that's one more step to have a Skyrim/New Vegas engine based Star Wars RPG. Here's what I think there should be in the next Star Wars RPG (If there will be any in the future)

Huge storyline, like a really, really huge storyline with lots of DLCs
Huge chraracters creation possibilities (like a wide range of races you can choose of for your character, tattos and others)
Lots of side quests or faction based side/primary quests just like in New Vegas or Skyrim
Space/Flight/Air combat with X-wings and everything
Wider range of armors/weapons/clothing
Talking/Chat system just like Skyrim or New Vegas (not Cinematic just like KotOR)
Possibility to have a wife and/or child
Possibility to own a house and/or spaceship
Possibility to travel freely between planets
Possibility to choose the era you want to play in (Pre Movies Era / Movies Era / Post Movies Era)
Start as an normal person, not a Jedi or a Sith and be able to become one if the player wants to
Combat system like Skyrim or New Vegas but enhenced to introduce the Jedi/Sith techniques and powers
Possibility to become a bounty hunter (or have any side jobs) to earn credits
Possibility to switch between the first and third person
Food/Drinks/Drugs and others (Not just medpacks)
Possibility to have NPCs partners/companions just like New Vegas and Skyrim (Not companions you control like in KotOR series)

Tell me what you think about it.
